Gyrotonic certification is a five-step process. It is intense, challenging and every bit a must for the trainer whose audience is asking for a regime that keeps them young, vital and in touch with the future of fitness.

Step One: Gyrotonic Pre-Training Course
This course introduces the basic concepts of the work, the basic foundational moves and the opportunity to work on the Gyrotonic Expansion System’s Combination Tower Pulley Unit. A premier Gyrotonic Master Trainer teaches the course over five consecutive days.
(Total hours 20 to 25)

  • Course fee is $850. (*Additional fee might be added by host site.)
    Visit www.gyrotonic.com for details

Step Two: Gyrotonic Foundation Course
This course is the next step in fulfilling the necessary requirements for certification in
Gyrotonic Level I.

All exercises are broken down and evaluated. Participants are taught the specific “hand holds” for guiding and instructing clients in the work. Time is spent practice teaching the work and doing the work under the watchful eye of the Master Trainer over 12 consecutive days. (55-60 hours in total)

  • Course fee is $1,500. (*Additional fee might be added by host site.)
  • A Certification of Completion is awarded at the end of this training period

Step Three: Apprenticeship
This aspect of certification, considered your apprenticeship, involves the actual “teaching” of the work to clients. A total of 55 hours of teaching must be logged and recorded. This is to be accomplished within one year from the end of the Foundation course.

Trainers can fulfill this requirement at their own studio; if this is not possible, the host site may charge a “usage” fee for the use of their facility.

Step Four: Supervised Teaching
After fulfilling the required 55-hours of working with clients, the apprentice is required to fulfill 20-Supervised Teaching Hours with a Master Trainer. This can be fulfilled by:

  • Assisting at a Pre-training
  • Assisting at a Foundation Training
  • Private Instruction with a Master Train

Step Five: Gyrotonic Certification
This is the final step in the certification for Gyrotonic Level I. This course is two to three days in length and conducted by Juliu Horvath – creator of Gyrotonic.

You will need to check with Gyrotonic headquarters at www.gyrotonic.com for Juliu’s schedule for dates, days and location. This certification is not usually performed at local host sites.

  • Course fee is $850. (*Additional fee might be added by host site.)
    Visit www.gyrotonic.com for details.
